Offer description

One of my local government clients are currently recruiting an experienced Business Support Officer on a temporary basis. This is a 3-month minimum contract with the possibility of the role being extended further to work Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm.

Hybrid working role were, however, you will be required to attend the office 2/3 times a week.

Overview:

To provide high quality business support, management information, and administrative functions to support the service.

Responsibilities:

* Responsible for the operation and maintenance of all elements of financial systems.

* To ensure adherence to all relevant policies, procedures and guidelines.

* Responsible for identifying and recovering any overpayments made, with autonomy to agree payment plans within an agreed framework.

* To ensure goods and services are acquired via agreed methods of procurement.

* Responsible for making payments using a Newport City Council credit card, in line with NCC policies and procedures.

* To manage, maintain and verify performance information using systems, including information analysis, and production and dissemination of reports.

* To communicate with partner agencies, colleagues and management to provide information, help and advice.

* To be a first point of contact for teams within the service, to provide information and guidance, and to resolve queries to support the efficient operation of the teams.

* To make all arrangements for meetings, including production of accurate minutes, recording decisions made and carrying out associated tasks, as agreed with management.

* To support and assist with service projects.

* To safeguard essential IT equipment, corporate accounts and security of data, and to comply with relevant corporate policies.

* Undertake other specific duties in line with the requirements of the service area.
