Royal Mail P&FS are recruiting for Cleaning Operatives at Home Counties North Mail Centre, Hemel Hempstead, HP2 7XX



Job Reference Number: 331487

Pay: £12.60 per hour plus £125 per month coordinator allowance



Contract type: Permanent


Working hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Saturday.


As part of Royal Mail Property & Facilities Solutions you will work from 09:00 to 15:15 either as part of a team or as the only cleaner on site, ensuring we continue to deliver the high standards of service our customers expect.



Flexibility is key as you’ll be happy to continue to complete the Cleaning Operative duties alongside the additional Cleaning Co-ordinator responsibilities.

About the Role Cleaning Role.



Your responsibilities will include a range of cleaning tasks, including:

* Mopping, vacuuming, and dusting
* Cleaning toilets, floors and offices
* Emptying bins and sanitising surfaces
* Litter picking within yard and car park areas

This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling, but don’t worry—we’ll provide all the training and support you need to succeed.



About the Cleaner Coordinator role

The Co-ordinator part requires you to oversee a team of cleaning operatives on a single site, whilst supporting the Soft Service Manager with the achievement of efficient day-to-day operations and develop a positive workplace culture. In this varied role, you’ll allocate daily tasks to the cleaning team, manage material use and stock control, conduct quality checks ensuring health and safety policies are followed and monitor the team’s attendance, schedule, and overtime.

You’ll be involved with HR matters for example conducting return to work interviews, support the SSM with the recruitment and training of cleaning operatives and play a key role in resolving operational problems.



About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

* Friendly, reliable, and self-motivated
* Able to work independently and manage their own time
* Comfortable communicating with customers and managers
* Committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety

Previous cleaning experience is a bonus, but not essential.
