Quarriers is recruiting Children’s Rights Workers in Morayshire! Join a team where small changes can make a big difference and play a part in ensuring children’s and families’ voices are heard!
Your new opportunity
Moray Children’s Rights Service advocates for children, young people, parents and carers—ensuring their voices are heard, respected, and central to the support they receive.
This is a meaningful opportunity to join a team dedicated to championing the rights and experiences of young people and their families through informed, rights-based practice.
As a Children’s Rights Participation Worker, you will be instrumental in delivering on The Promise—that Scotland’s children will grow up loved, safe, and respected—by embedding advocacy through a rights-based lens into every aspect of your work.
You will actively promote and support the meaningful participation of children, young people, parents, and carers in all matters affecting their lives. Central to this role is helping parents and carers understand their children’s rights and navigate the systems that impact them, empowering families with the knowledge and confidence to engage fully.
Through a rights-based, trauma-informed approach, you will ensure that every voice is heard, respected, and taken seriously. You will support families to influence decisions, advocate effectively, and shape the support they receive in a way that reflects their needs and experiences.
We are offering 1x fixed-term contract for 12 months, working 35 hours per week, and flexibility can be considered based on service delivery.
What you will need to be considered:
* A relevant qualification (HNC/SVQ) related to working with children and young people, or equivalent work experience
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies pertaining to children’s rights
* Understanding of the care system in Scotland and the issues affecting children, young people, and families with lived experience of care and additional support needs
* Strong IT and communication skills
* Full driving licence and access to your own vehicle (travel is required for visits)
