Principal responsibilities: To maintain the safety & security of the children in the Nursery and Out of School Club. Maintain an attractive, stimulating & reassuring environment for children, implementing planned play activities for sensory & intellectual development, the development of language & to support children’s social & emotional development as well as physical development needs.
MAIN DUTIES
* To support & liaise with the Room Leader on a daily basis.
* To support the provision of a broad and balanced curriculum that will meet the requirements of relevant national and local standards.
* To support the provision of the high quality care & education for children & families.
* To observe, monitor & contribute towards written records on children’s developmental progress.
* To maintain client confidentiality.
* To report any injury or accident ensuring that health & safety of the individual is maintained.
* To report any suspicious or suspected non-accidental injury following the company Safeguarding procedures.
* To plan & equip environments for children and identify gaps in provision with the Room Leader.
* To plan, implement & evaluate learning activities & experiences with the Room Leader.
* To promote the care & education of children with special needs.
* To manage yourself.
* To create effective working relationships.
* To contribute to the effectiveness of teams.
* To work with other professionals.
* To be flexible within the working practices of the company. To be prepared to help where needed, including to undertake certain domestic jobs within the Nursery and Out of School Club.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
* NVQ Level 3 in Early Years and Childcare or equivalent
* Experience of team work
* Experience of working in partnership with parents/carers
