The Brain Injury Support Worker role involves providing high-quality care and support to a client with a brain injury, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. The role includes assisting with daily living activities, providing emotional support and companionship, and collaborating with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care.


Main duties of the job

The support worker will assist the client with daily activities, accompany them in the community, and take them to appointments. They will also provide emotional support, assist with meals, maintain care records, and work with healthcare teams and family.

Job responsibilities

Location: Doncaster
Hours: 2/3 weekday shifts, starting with Monday & Wednesday, 4-6 hours each.
Pay: £15.50 - £17.00 per hour depending on shift.

We seek a compassionate and dedicated support worker to provide high-quality care, ensuring safety and comfort for our client.

Requirements: Full UK driving license and access to own vehicle are essential.

About the Client: A female in her 20s with a brain injury from a road traffic accident. She is mobile with a wheelchair for longer distances, has some left-side weakness, and experiences fatigue. The role includes companionship, community outings, and support with activities like hair and nail appointments, meals, and social outings. She loves fashion, photography, and has a pet miniature dachshund, so comfort with dogs is required.

Key Responsibilities:

* Assist with daily activities and community outings
* Provide emotional support and companionship
* Assist with meal prep
* Keep accurate care records and report changes
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family

Qualifications:

* Experience in a similar role, preferably with brain injury
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Energetic, empathetic, and upbeat nature
* Ability to work independently and in a team
* Flexibility in working hours
* Valid UK driver’s license
