General Manager
We are an exciting, award‑winning gym chain rapidly expanding across the UK. We invest in top‑quality, stylish environments for our members and are looking for an inspirational leader to develop the brand and nurture a growing membership base.
Role Overview
This role requires an inspirational leader with proven flair and commercial ability, as well as the skill, energy and determination to drive and develop the business.
Responsibilities
* Ensure all policies and procedures in the Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook are adhered to.
* Maintain the JD Gyms Brand Standard and conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety checks.
* Report and chase all defects to guarantee the building and equipment are safe.
* Recruit, manage and develop a team of Fitness Coaches and General Assistants to ensure club operations.
* Hold regular team meetings to aid development and keep everyone updated.
* Work towards and aim to achieve all sales and membership targets set.
* Drive and maximise secondary spending revenue.
* Ensure the whole gym facility meets the highest cleanliness standards, overseeing in‑house cleaning.
* Manage the weekly banking process, minimising wastage and variance while maximising profit.
* Maintain uniform standards and deliver outstanding member service.
* Create an environment where the team enjoys working at JD Gyms and be an ambassador of the brand.
Skills and Experience
* Proven and successful management experience within a leisure‑related industry.
* Passionate about customer service and an inspirational leader.
* Track record in driving sales and coordinating local marketing activity.
* Recruiting and managing a successful team.
* Experience as a General Manager overseeing all business areas within a leisure facility, or substantial experience as a Fitness Manager or similar operational role.
