About Our Client:
Our client is a London Borough Council seeking support in the legal services industry. They are committed to providing strategic legal advice and solutions to Councils, Members, and Officers to achieve their goals. As a shared back-office support service, they deliver high-quality legal work across disciplines such as civil litigation, housing, and corporate issues, across multiple sites and organizations.

Responsibilities:
* Manage a caseload of legal work, acting as a subject expert with support from a Senior or Principal Lawyer.
* Notify the Senior Lawyer of high-risk matters and assist other teams when requested.
* Support strategic projects and teams to focus on innovative and commercial solutions.
* Supervise junior team members, including trainees and support staff.
* Carry out advocacy on own caseload and attend meetings to provide legal and governance advice.
* Produce or comment on reports for Council meetings and decision-making processes.
* Work some evenings, weekends, and public holidays as needed to meet service requirements.
* Provide legal advice to partner Councils to support proper decision-making.
* Be a practising solicitor, barrister, or legal executive with a practising certificate.
* Demonstrate competence in people management, leadership, service improvement, and managing change.
* Have strong knowledge and experience in civil litigation, housing, and corporate issues.
* Understand local government functions, agendas, and the legal, financial, and political context.
* Possess knowledge of local government powers, duties, procurement, planning, or development.
