Description The Role: We are looking for someone ready to take the wheel on making a real impact in Cornwall’s journeys to education. We’re looking for a proactive, flexible, and communicative individual to join our dynamic Transport Coordination Team at Cornwall Council where one day is never like another. As a Transport Officer, you’ll play a vital role in helping to plan, manage and delivery our statutory home to school function. This position will be subject to a basic criminal record disclosure check. Key responsibilities: Be able to access eligibility for statutory home to school travel assistance Develop and manage efficient transport networks across Cornwall Liaise confidently with the public, stakeholders, and Elected Members Provide expert input into route planning using tools such as Q-Routes Collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to find creative, cost-effective solutions Be part of a busy but highly rewarding team, where no two days are the same What you’ll need to succeed: Knowledge, Skills and Experience: A team player with excellent communication skills Comfortable engaging with the public and Elected Members Flexible, positive, with a can-do attitude and an ability to manage competing priorities Desirable experience or familiarity with network planning, ideally with Q-Routes, MTC and Sproc.Net Desirable experience in contract and supplier management Understanding of public procurement rules and tendering Please read the role profile for the full details of this role attached below in this advert What you’ll get in return: Cornwall Council’s ambition is to be an employer of choice, a high performing Council and a learning organisation.
