About the job you’re considering

We are looking for individuals with a genuine enthusiasm for technology who want to start their career in the IT industry.

You will be joining the Applications Development and Maintenance practice working for a wide variety of clients across a large range of sectors from the public sector to retail, insurance and defence. You will build strong team and client relationships, support growth, innovation, and continuous service improvement.

Hybrid working: This role is hybrid working meaning you will predominately work from home but will be expected to attend the office regularly for meetings and team events. You can attend the office daily if you wish. You will need to be based within a commutable distance of one of our main offices (Birmingham, Glasgow, London, Manchester, Treforest, Woking) and may be asked to work on client site for part of the week depending on the client.

Your role

As an Applications Consultant within the ADM (Applications Development & Maintenance) practice, you will develop technical skills to support and enhance clients’ business applications, contributing to activities such as incident resolution, application enhancements, testing, and documentation. You will work within established delivery frameworks like Agile, ITIL, and Product-centric approaches, advising clients on maximising application value.

Depending on your strengths and business needs, you may specialise as either a functional consultant (for example, HR, Finance, or Supply Chain) or as a technical application consultant, working with technologies such as Oracle, SAP, Microsoft, AWS Cloud, Azure Cloud, and Java. Regardless of specialism you will engage with leading-edge cloud and AI technologies, have ongoing access to world-class industry training and certifications, and be actively encouraged to pursue industry-standard qualifications to support your professional growth—all while consistently maintaining high delivery standards and best practices.

You can bring your whole self to work. At Capgemini building an inclusive future is part of everyday life and will be part of your working reality. We have built a representative and welcoming environment, for everyone.

Graduate Empower Programme

The Empower Programme provides hands-on experience, structured development, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact. You’ll join a supportive, feedback-rich environment where you’ll build consulting, technology, industry, and soft skills - whether in business analysis, data, project management, software development, cybersecurity, AI or creative design.

Designed to help you thrive, offering technical and professional development alongside tailored feedback and mentoring. You’ll have regular social and networking events to strengthen connections across teams and contribute to a positive, collaborative culture.

The Empower Programme equips you to succeed in dynamic roles that integrate both technology and business expertise to deliver value for clients. Built around six essential Power Skills, the programme blends client work, role-specific training, and collaborative projects. You’ll join Learning Pods to build cross-functional networks and follow personalised development roadmaps that guide your growth.

Your skills and experience

1. A bachelor’s degree (preferably in a STEM field).
2. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
3. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in team environments.
4. Ability to effectively prioritise and deliver in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
5. Eagerness to learn and adapt to emerging technologies.
6. A true passion for technology, and the transformational impact it can have.

Your clearance

If you are successfully offered this position, you will go through a series of pre-employmentchecks, including: identity, nationality (single or dual) or immigration status, employment history going back 3 continuous years, and unspent criminal record check (known as Disclosure and Barring Service).

Your security clearance
