Oakwood Primary School is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) KS2 - Full or part time. Location: Oakwood, St Albans, Hertfordshire. Salary: Pay details H4 - H5 (pro-rata). Start date: as soon as possible. This is a permanent position and includes 33.25 hours per week across 5 days: 8:30am to 4:00pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 8:30am to 4:45pm on Wednesdays (staff CPD day). There is a 1-hour unpaid lunch break. Attendance at INSET days (five per year) is required. There is the option of a 3 or 4 days-per-week role and some flexibility on days and hours (e.g., a 3:30pm finish).
We are a 1.5 form entry community school with a strong emphasis on kindness, curiosity and ambition. We were graded ‘Good’ by Ofsted in June 2024. A specialism in French, PE or music may be an advantage, but is not essential. The main role is to regularly deliver lessons to whole classes across the primary age range, with opportunities to work with our Subject Leader to shape lessons if you have a specialism. The HLTA will work collaboratively to continue our commitment to inclusive learning and a nurturing ethos. The role is primarily in LKS2 (Year 3 and Year 4) but may involve working with classes across the full primary age range (EYFS to Year 6) and may include usual Teaching Assistant responsibilities, including supporting children with SEND.
