Beeches Green Surgery is looking for a Medicalreceptionist to join their friendly and hardworking team.

The ideal candidate will have excellent customer serviceand communication skills and will work as part of a team. Previous experience ofworking in a GP Practice is desirable but not necessary as full training willbe given.

This position is a permanent part time role, around 20 hours.

Main duties of the job

Administrative:

* To have a thorough knowledge of all Practice procedure
* To work in accordance with written protocols
* Pulling/filing of notes as necessary
* Filing post in medical records
* Photocopying /scanning

Reception

* Open and close the practice according to Practice procedures
* Book, cancel or amend appointments for patients
* Handle prescription requests in accordance with Practice protocol
* Deal with patient enquiries
* Take messages and enter information on appropriate systems
* Deal with test results
* Maintain stationary stocks in reception and GP consultation rooms
* Ensure reception area is clean and tidy

Information Technology

* Registration of new patients computer data entry and medical records
* Process change of address
* Registration of patients for online services

Telephone

* Have a working knowledge of the telephone system
* Receive incoming telephone calls, record messages accurately and make contact with other members of the healthcare team

Other Tasks

* General clerical or administrative duties as required

Thejob description is not an exhaustive list of duties. Receptionists are required to be adaptableand willing to undertake a wide range of duties within the practice. The job description will be reviewed andupdated on a regular basis to ensure the business needs of the Practice aremet.


Person Specification


Experience

* Good communicator (verbal & written), ability to work autonomously when required, ability to relate to the interviewing team and personality to match the culture of practice, pleasant and professional manner.


Qualifications

* GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths or equivalent
