A vacancy has arisen for a FS (Any Profession) to serve as FS ASSURANCE on 501 Sqn at RAF Brize Norton on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of being not before 01 October 2026 (or later, subject to candidate status). This post is responsible to OC 501 Sqn, via XO 501 Sqn, for the oversight, delivery and management of all Squadron Assurance activity. The role provides 1st Party and 1LOD assurance, supports Safety, Health and Environment responsibilities and acts as the Squadron lead for Assurance, Risk, Safety Management and Articles in Use. Job specifications: a. Undertake 1st Party Assurance activity on behalf of 501 Sqn iaw JSP 822. b. Conduct 1LOD Assurance activity for 501 Sqn iaw JSP 815 (Element 12). c. Lead the Sqn annual self assessment against the Defence SMS in conjunction with OC 501 Sqn. d. Represent 501 Sqn at RLSW Assurance activities. e. Collaborate with 504 Sqn and 605 Sqn Assurance teams; act as lead for Assurance for RLSW where required. f. Maintain, review and manage the Squadron Risk Register, ensuring annual review cycles are met. g. Act as Squadron Lead Super User for mandated systems. h. Act as the Squadron SHEF Representative iaw RAF Brize Norton policy. i. Act as DEP EP Representative iaw Station requirements. j. Act as the Squadron Flight Safety Representative. k. Act as the Squadron Inventory Holder, ensuring compliance with Articles in Use governance. l. Undertake additional Assurance, Safety or Governance activity as directed by OC 501 Sqn.
