A vibrant and nurturing Primary School in Bolton, known for its warmmunity andmitment to excellence, are looking for a dedicated Site Manager to join their team and help maintain their school environment.
As a Site Manager, you will be responsible for the overall maintenance, security, and smooth operation of the school premises. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that students, staff, and visitors enjoy a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment.
Location: Bolton, BL1
Hours: 30 per week
Contract Type: Temporary initially, Permanent from September 2025
Salary: £27,269 - £33,366 (FTE)
Start Date: ASAP
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the maintenance and repair of school buildings, grounds, and facilities.
2. Ensure the security of the school premises, including managing access and responding to emergencies.
3. Conduct regular inspections to identify and address any issues promptly.
4. Manage the school's cleaning staff and ensure high standards of cleanliness.
5. Maintain records of maintenance activities and ensurepliance with health and safety regulations.
6. Assist with setting up school events and activities.
7. Manage the work of contractors on site and monitor services provided externally, such as cleaning and grounds maintenance
8. Carry out routine maintenance and basic repairs during the school day and monitor major works during the school holidays
9. Carry out your responsibilities throughout term time and holidays
10. Be responsible for the use of the school’s facilities outside of school hours, including evenings and weekends
11. Ensure the delivery of external service contracts to agreed standards
12. Ensure that stock control and ordering systems are efficient
Key Skills/Experience:
13. Site Manager or Site Supervisor/Senior Site Supervisor experience within an educational setting
14. Experience and skills to carry out repairs and minor building work
15. Strong level ofmitment and attention to detail to maintain high standards of cleanliness
16. Ability to lead and organise the work of others, as well as good interpersonal and some administrative skills
17. Able to form positive and supportive relationships with staff and children
18. Proven knowledge and experience of building maintenance and/or facilities management
19. Up-to-date knowledge of how to meet service users' needs through effective facilities management, including site safety and security
20. Proven time and priority management skills
21. Capable of working autonomously
