Overview
We are keen to hear from engineers who are motivated by maritime and coastal challenges.
Responsibilities
* Contribute to the design of maritime and coastal infrastructure, with a focus on heavy civils and maritime structures, applying appropriate standards such as Eurocodes and BS 6349.
* Support the delivery of maritime projects from concept through to detailed design and delivery, working with multidisciplinary teams and directly with clients.
* Provide responsive technical advice to colleagues and contribute to trusted technical guidance.
* Engage in project management for small to medium-sized commissions, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
* Collaborate within Arup’s Maritime team in the South Transport group, and support development toward Chartered status with guidance from experienced colleagues.
Qualifications
* A degree in civil, structural or maritime engineering (or equivalent), and be working towards Chartered status with ICE, IStructE or a relevant professional body
* Experience in the design of heavy civils and/or maritime structures, with knowledge of Eurocodes and BS 6349
* Exposure to project management for small to medium-sized engineering projects
* Experience working directly with clients and contributing to trusted technical advice
* A collaborative approach, with the ability to work in teams, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
