Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a R&D Engineer located in Dundalk, Ireland or UK.Reporting to the R&D Manager, the R&D Engineer role involves developing new products, redesign existing products, and perform research and testing on product concepts. This includes maintaining quality engineering programs, standards, and improvements within the organization.What a typical day looks like:
1. Contribute to the development and optimisation of Critical Power Products for the data centre market - focusing on reliability, efficiency, and scalability
2. Conduct market research and evaluate similar products and their functions
3. Apply engineering principles to create innovative, manufacturable, and cost-effective solutions
4. Participate in the design and development of new products from concept to prototype
5. Redesign and test existing products to enhance functionality, improve manufacturability, or reduce costs
6. Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure feasibility and performance
7. Plan and execute product testing, including functional, environmental, and compliance tests (IEC and UL)
8. Track project milestones, risks, and deliverables; provide regular updates to internal stakeholders and escalate issues when needed
9. Support lab activities and coordinate with internal and external test engineers
10. Analyze test results and iterate designs to meet performance and reliability targets
11. Conduct investigations and root cause analysis to resolve issues and prevent recurrence
12. Prepare clear, concise, and accurate technical reports to document findings and support decision-making

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
14. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field
15. 3+ years of experience in Engineering, product development or R&D role
16. Proficiency in CAD tools and engineering simulation software
17. Familiarity with IEC and UL standards, particularly for Switchgear, Busway, and related power distribution systems
18. Experience with Electrical testing protocols and lab environments
19. Strong analytical, communication, and project coordination skills
20. Strong self-management and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
21. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, associates, vendors and/or customers.
22. Must be able to communicate to all levels of the organization from production associates through executives.
23. Possess a driving licence and have willingness to travel between sites
24. Eligible to work in UK or Ireland.
