Practitioner Psychologist
We are seeking to recruit a Practitioner Psychologist to join our Older Peoples Mental Health Service for a 12‑month fixed‑term post (30 hours per week) to cover maternity leave. Applications are welcomed from trainees graduating this year.
Overview
The successful candidate will work as part of the Older Adults Community Mental Health Team and will also provide psychological input into our Dementia Assessment Unit. You will deliver a psychological service to older adults, both directly and indirectly, collaborating with colleagues and agencies to meet service users’ needs. The service is a friendly, well‑established multi‑disciplinary team that values a trauma‑informed approach and offers opportunities for professional development.
Responsibilities
* Provide evidence‑based psychological therapy and make autonomous clinical decisions.
* Offer consultation and advice on psychological therapies and the psychological aspects of care.
* Assist the Team Manager/Clinical Lead with operational duties, service development, and research and development activities.
Qualifications / Requirements
* Qualified practitioner psychologist (ACCP, HCPC, or equivalent).
* Experience working with older adults (and preference for experience in dementia care).
* Strong collaborative and communication skills with families, carers, and multi‑disciplinary teams.
* Commitment to continuous professional development (CPD).
