Ready to reimagine what your career could be? Your role and responsibilities you will be processing requests for permanent and transient licences. These include materials on the highway, skips and scaffolding, street furniture, cranes and vehicular dropped kerb accesses liaising with the customers and working closely with the Highways Licensing Inspectors to ensure the efficient, effective delivery and management of this service. plan and be creative in the use of resources through meaningful application of technology, systems thinking, smarter ways of working, time management and project management tools and techniques think critically and analytically in making decisions and recommendations based on sound rationale in accordance with our policies be an effective ambassador for Suffolk County Council when liaising with colleagues within Suffolk Highways and external customers, particularly representatives of the County Council and parish, town, district and borough councils respond to increasing financial pressure by being creative, innovative and cost-focused to secure optimum efficiency savings, cost reductions and profitability without sacrificing service quality. You will need to be able to organise your time and understand how to prioritise tasks and an eye for detail great communication skills to be able to work using your own initiative as well as part of a busy team. The Licensing Team form part of the wider Highway Regulation Team with a total of 31 colleagues and work together to support each other and provide the best service possible for both internal and external partners.
