About the Control System Engineer Role:
Orion is working with an industry leader that is seeking a highly skilled Control Systems Engineer to join their dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing bespoke automation software that aligns with customer requirements and industry standards. Your technical expertise and creativity will contribute to our reputation for excellence and help drive progress across diverse sectors.
Key Responsibilities of the Control System Engineer:
* Understand and manage the entire automation project lifecycle, from concept to completion
* Design, develop, and test control software applications for PLCs and HMIs for various requirements
* Perform functional testing of software applications and oversee safe on-site installation and commissioning.
* Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including Functional Design Specifications (FDS), Software Design Specifications (SDS), testing records, and user manuals.
Requirements of the Control System Engineer:
* Proven experience in designing and interpreting Functional Design Specifications and translating them into automation software.
* Strong PLC programming experience, particularly with Rockwell Control-Logix PLCs or experience with Siemens TIA Portal.
* HMI programming experience.
* Knowledge of setting up and managing TCP/IP networks for automation systems.
