Position Overview
Methods is currently looking for an IT Infrastructure Engineer based in Great Malvern, England, United Kingdom. The role involves the design, implementation, and maintenance of the Azure Stack Hub environment, as well as the physical networking and cabling that underpins our data centres. The engineer will collaborate closely with cloud architects, system administrators, network engineers, and security teams to ensure seamless integration and performance across both cloud and on‑premise systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Azure Stack Hub Management
o Deploy, configure, and manage Azure resources
o Integrate Azure services (e.g. Entra Governance)
o Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise hybrid cloud performance
o Implement security measures to protect sensitive data
* Physical Network Setup
o Rack and stack servers, switches, and other hardware
o Pull, terminate, and test network cabling (CAT6, fibre optic)
o Manage power distribution, cooling, and physical security in data centres
* Infrastructure Support
o Collaborate with architects and security teams to support IT infrastructure
o Provide hands‑on support during network upgrades, data migrations, and deployments within Azure Stack Hub
o Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and connectivity issues promptly
* Documentation & Compliance
o Maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud and on‑premise components
o Ensure configurations comply with security policies and industry regulations
* Project Involvement
o Participate in planning and execution of projects involving hybrid cloud environments
o Work with vendors and contractors to ensure successful delivery
Qualifications
* Hands‑on experience administering, configuring, and managing private‑cloud solutions
* Experience managing private‑cloud solutions across multiple sites
* Experience with site‑to‑site failover, replication, and on‑premise backup solutions (RPO and RTO)
* Experience with traffic management and networking in a secure private‑cloud environment
* Understanding of hardware redundancy and high availability
* Ability to monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise performance
* Implement security measures in line with best practices
* Perform regular maintenance for on‑premise systems
* Maintain documentation for infrastructure elements
* Understanding of administering Windows Servers
Certifications (nice to have)
* AZ‑400 Azure Administrator Associate
* AZ‑800 Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
* Azure Stack Hub Operator Associate
* Cisco CCNA
* CompTIA Server+

Security Clearance
This role requires the candidate to have or be willing to undergo a security clearance. As part of onboarding, candidates will be asked to complete a Baseline Personnel Security Standard.
