Scaffolding Estimator

The Role
We’re working with a leading access solutions provider in Preston that is looking to expand its commercial team with a skilled Scaffolding Estimator. This is a key position responsible for pricing and winning a wide variety of scaffolding projects across the construction, industrial, and commercial sectors.
You’ll work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to deliver accurate, timely, and competitive estimates, helping to drive business growth and repeat client success.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Review tender documents, drawings, and specifications to assess project requirements.
* Visit sites to evaluate access constraints and understand project logistics.
* Prepare detailed quotations covering scaffolding materials, labour, transport, and equipment.
* Collaborate with internal teams and clients to ensure bids are accurate, feasible, and cost-effective.
* Provide quotes for project variations and additional works throughout the project lifecycle.
* Maintain and update pricing databases, supplier contacts, and valuation systems.
* Analyse bid performance (win/loss ratios) and refine estimating strategies.
* Provide technical support during project delivery where required.
* Ensure all estimates adhere to health & safety standards and industry regulations.
What You’ll Bring
* Proven experience in a scaffolding estimating role or similar within the access or construction sector.
* Strong understanding of scaffolding systems (traditional and system), components, and safety best practices.
* Excellent numerical, analytical, and planning skills.
* The ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
* Familiarity with estimating tools and software (Excel essential; others a plus).
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage client and team interactions.
* Effective time management and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
Nice to Have
* Qualifications in Construction, Quantity Surveying, or Civil Engineering.
* CISRS certification or other scaffolding-related qualifications.
* Experience with project management or construction estimating platforms.
* Knowledge of building regulations and local H&S legislation.
