HGV Driver & F1 Events Operative Location: UK (Training at North Depot – Appleton Thorn or South Depot – Rugby) Travel: Extensive European Travel Required The Opportunity We are recruiting a professional and reliable Class 1 (CE) HGV Driver to join a specialist logistics and event operations team supporting five major international motorsport contracts across Europe, including work within the Formula One championship calendar. This is a unique and exciting role combining long-distance European driving with hands-on event operations. You will transport high-value equipment to prestigious race circuits across Europe while playing a key role in the build and breakdown of race infrastructure. The Role During Peak Motorsport Season: Drive Class 1 HGV vehicles across the UK and Europe to major race venues Ensure high-value equipment is delivered safely and on schedule Work on-site as part of an event crew Assist with unloading, positioning, assembling, and dismantling race bases and infrastructure This is a physically active, team-based role requiring flexibility, resilience, and a strong work ethic. Long days and extended time away from home should be expected during peak season. During the Off-Season: Support general haulage operations across a varied UK (and occasional European) client base Maintain high standards of safety, professionalism, and vehicle care Key Responsibilities Transport specialist motorsport and event equipment across Europe Operate Class 1 HGV vehicles safely and professionally Secure and protect loads to ensure damage-free delivery Complete all tachograph, driver hours, and transport documentation accurately Assist with customs and border documentation where required Conduct vehicle checks, cleanliness standards, and defect reporting Support event setup and breakdown activities Adhere strictly to driver hours, compliance, and safety regulations Work collaboratively with logistics and on-site event teams Experience & Requirements Essential: Valid Class 1 (CE) HGV Licence Valid Driver CPC Digital Tachograph Card Willingness to travel extensively and stay away for prolonged periods Physically fit and willing to undertake manual/event setup work Flexible approach to long and irregular hours Desirable: Previous European HGV driving experience Experience driving left-hand drive vehicles Knowledge of customs and border documentation Experience in event logistics, motorsport, or specialist transport Practical trade skills (electrical, plumbing, mechanical, etc.) Strong teamwork and communication skills FLT B1 & B2 Telehandler licence Scissor lift licence Additional Information Competitive day rate during in-season motorsport events Day rate payable for scheduled days off whilst abroad during event tours Hourly rate for general haulage work during the off-season
