Sub-Agent - Nights

Job Introduction
SCS Railways is seeking a Sub Agent to manage and lead weekday night shifts (Monday night to Friday night) for reinforced concrete works at West Ruislip Portal. The role involves overseeing the delivery of WRP FRC works during night shifts, managing resources, and providing supervision, advice, and guidance to the construction teams and sub-contractors. The successful candidate will ensure works progress according to the contract, programme, budget, and design requirements, and will implement and assure compliance with all relevant High Speed 2 and statutory requirements concerning health, safety, environment, and public relations within their scope of work. Additionally, they will manage quality assurance within their section of works, including the compilation of handover packs and obtaining client approval.
Role Responsibilities
1. Manage, supervise, train, and mentor the night site team.
2. Review contractual agreements, develop detailed site-specific programmes, forecast budgets, assess actual programme and productivity, review weekly, and report changes to Asset Lead and QS department.
3. Requisition resources timely to ensure they are correctly specified and available to prevent construction delays.
4. Ensure inspection and test plans, risk assessments, and method statements are implemented and adhered to.
5. Demonstrate commitment to the requirements of the Health & Safety and Environmental Policies.
6. Implement relevant safety management system requirements within their area.
7. Ensure the construction team, sub-contractors, and suppliers have access to relevant health, safety, and environmental policies and are kept informed of developments.
8. Coordinate internally with Asset Lead, design and engineering teams, QA team, and cost control.
9. Coordinate externally with High Speed 2, sub-contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders, working closely with the Construction Manager.
10. Understand and ensure compliance with client and joint venture environment and sustainability policies and statutory requirements.
11. Manage design field change processes, offering design change solutions for approval.
12. Review and understand temporary works requirements, ensuring briefs and designs meet construction schedules.
13. Review drawings, 3D models, and specifications to understand scope and identify changes.
14. Ensure all quality checks are conducted per ITPs and properly documented.
15. Manage non-conformance reports and oversee their resolution on-site.
16. Communicate non-conformances to QA and QS teams.
17. Ensure subcontractor designs meet requirements and manage subcontractors to fulfill contractual obligations and deliver site works in line with the programme.
18. Maintain a comprehensive daily site diary, documenting changes, variations, subcontractor attendance, and work-related discussions.
19. Manage construction and technical assurance for the section of works, including inspection and test plan records, redline drawings, as-built records, and verification certificates.
20. Adhere to all project policies and procedures.
The Ideal Candidate
Essential:
* Degree-level qualification (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or allied subject, or HNC in Civil Engineering with vocational training.
* Understanding of engineering principles.
* Experience with formwork reinforced concrete works.
* Knowledge of construction techniques, sequencing, and best practices.
* Knowledge of working with and implementing construction contracts.
* Ability to work independently and proactively, as well as collaboratively with teams and external stakeholders.
* Temporary Works Supervisor/Coordinator certification.
