Exciting opportunity to join a highly regarded team. Consultant Obstetrician post with an interest in Safeguarding. You will be part of a team of 32 Consultants. The unit was rated as Good by the CQC in March 2025.

Main duties of the job
The post-holder will provide a full range of obstetric skills including managing the Labour Ward, Antenatal clinics, Section Lists, and Maternity Assessment Unit in collaboration with existing consultants and within the multi‑disciplinary team. The post will include 2 sessions per week of Fetal Medicine scanning. The department will provide FM scan lists to the Shrewsbury and Telford population at Princess Royal Hospital Site one day a week.
Clinical duties will be across the Royal Stoke & County Hospital Sites. On‑call is 1:16 weekday & 1:7.7 weekend obstetric on‑call. (Weekends are split to align presence & on‑call on a Friday & Sunday sequence, followed by a Saturday sequence)
Qualifications
* Full GMC Registration
* MRCOG or appropriate specialist qualification – CCT or equivalent
* ATSM/SITM – advanced Labour ward / High risk antenatal
* ATSM/SITM – Fetal Medicine / Prenatal Diagnosis or equivalent
* Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of the AAC
* Safeguarding level 3 or above

* Approaching independence with complex obstetric care, complex obstetric operating – Labour ward ATSM.
* Ability to work within acute care team to promote planning and safety.

* Presentations / posters / QI to define interest and evidence in intrapartum care.
