In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of our patients, their carers, and relatives every day. Our Healthcare Support Workers are vital members of our multidisciplinary teams, supporting our patients by assisting Registered Nurses in planning, delivering, and evaluating care. This will require you to:
* Communicate effectively with a broad range of individuals, both verbally and in writing;
* Share our commitment to maintaining high standards in everything we do;
* Work effectively within a team that upholds our values.
The Healthcare Support Worker role is diverse and busy, involving various shifts including long days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
If you are positive, caring, and have a can-do attitude, we want you to join us. It is essential that you demonstrate an understanding of the role and responsibilities, show how you develop and maintain positive working relationships, and reflect our Trust values in your application. You must be at least 18 years old, willing to work a minimum of 23 hours per week, and able to commit to the standard shift pattern, including long days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
Our vision is to provide outstanding care for every patient. Patient care is at the core of our work across our three sites: Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester, and Andover War Memorial Hospital. Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust serves approximately 600,000 people across Hampshire and parts of West Berkshire. Our cultural ambition is to foster a supportive environment where people are at the heart of everything we do, where everyone belongs, and where learning, improvement, and excellence thrive. We provide specialist services nationally and internationally, including being one of only two UK centers treating pseudomyxoma peritonei, a rare abdominal cancer, and leaders in tertiary liver and colorectal cancers. The trust employs over 9,000 staff with an annual turnover exceeding £500 million. As a Foundation Trust, we are directly accountable to our members through the governors, who represent their constituencies and influence our future plans.
