Youth Support Worker – Wokingham, Berkshire
£14.25 – £15.00 per hour. Full and part time shifts, including evenings and weekends.
Completely Care Ltd are recruiting for agency support workers to help make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable young adults. An independent supported living service provides accommodation and support to young adults who are developing their independence. As a Support Worker, you’ll offer a safe, stable, and nurturing environment where young people feel heard, supported, and respected. You’ll be there to guide them through everyday life – whether that’s cooking dinner, handling a challenge calmly, or simply being a reliable presence.
Responsibilities
* Build positive, trusting relationships with young residents
* Support the residents with daily living skills, including cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and personal care
* Maintain clear and accurate records of observations, incidents, and support provided
* Work independently during lone shifts while remaining connected to a wider team
* Respond calmly and appropriately to distress or challenging behaviour
* Uphold safeguarding policies and follow protocols to maintain a safe environment
* Carry out basic property checks and ensure the home is safe and welcoming
Qualifications
* Experience working with people in residential care, supported living, youth work, or similar
* Emotionally resilient and calm under pressure
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Confident working alone and managing responsibilities
* A clear understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries
* Practical knowledge of home safety and routines (training provided)
* Willingness to work flexibly – including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins
* A clear enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
