Purpose
Working as part of a small, dynamic team to ensure safe, efficient and compliant day-to-day operating management of ScottishPower Renewables (SPR) portfolio, you will act as the responsible Field Supervisor for a designated number of sites within the SPR portfolio and pro-actively manage, co-ordinate and close-out local issues directly and via sub-contractors where present.
Responsibilities
* Ensure site activities and safety risks across allocated sites are effectively performed and executed in accordance with SPR and OSHAS 45001 Safety Management Systems.
* Carry out thorough WTG/Battery storage facility and infrastructure safety/technical inspections and audits; produce associated records/checklists/reports detailing issues and programmes to close-out; coordinate response and close-out of issues identified during routine inspections.
* Supervise sub-contractors to ensure all site activities are planned and scheduled in SPR Central Maintenance Planning System; ensure activities are performed in a safe, compliant and efficient manner and to the required technical standard.
* Confirm general statutory/regulatory compliance across allocated sites (H&S, Environmental and Planning related); contribute to site performance reporting tools/systems; provide input to achieving SPR O&M KPIs for allocated sites.
* Assume responsibility for pre-commencement assessment of all work tasks on allocated sites in accordance with SPR Work Control Management Instruction; carry out Wind Turbine Inspections and local fault resetting as required; provide input to area budgets and forecasts.
* Assist with identification of new and development of existing site-specific and group-wide operating procedures and policies; liaise with internal/external stakeholders including landowners and emergency services; provide 24-hour call-out/response for allocated sites in the event of emergencies; carry out limited HV apparatus operations in accordance with SPR Electrical Safety Rules.
* Work with Area Supervisor to maintain consistent resourcing of area and support of allocated sites during periods of increased workload, training, holidays and sickness.
* Ability to travel to sites across the SPR portfolio in all weather conditions and to work at heights and within enclosed spaces.
What you’ll bring
* Solid knowledge of electro-mechanical generating plant and apparatus.
* Educated to HNC or appropriate City & Guilds level (Electrical or Mechanical discipline) or possess equivalent transferable practical experience.
* Experience with Company Safety Rules or equivalent rule-based system; good organisational and interpersonal skills; ability to adapt quickly to changing environments; proactive attitude to change.
* High degree of self-motivation and flexible approach to work; able to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
* Previous Battery storage operational/maintenance experience and Windfarm Technician/Supervisory experience is beneficial.
* Computer literacy (MS Office) and familiarity with SCADA systems.
* Full UK driving licence; ability to work at heights and in enclosed spaces; willingness to travel across the SPR portfolio in all weather conditions.
