5. SEMH Teacher, Haywards Heath / Burgess Hill
Rate: £125–£215/day depending on role and experience
Contract: Long-term (term-by-term), strong potentialm to go permanent
Location: SEMH provision in Haywards Heath / Burgess Hill
Responsibilities:
* Plan, deliver, and assess a differentiated curriculum tailored for SEMH pupils
* Use trauma-informed teaching strategies, de-escalation techniques, and relationship-based practice
* Develop and maintain behaviour support plans
* Work with pastoral teams, SENCOs, and external professionals (therapists, social workers)
* Record and report on progress, social–emotional development, and behaviour
* Engage in safeguarding, risk assessment, and restorative conversations
Requirements / Advantages:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification
* Experience or a strong interest in SEMH or alternative provision
* Driving licence is very advantageous — helps reach wider placements
* Enhanced Child-Only DBS mandatory

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
