Vickerstock are working in partnership with a growing food business business on the appointment of a Purchasing and Stock Manager on a full-time permanent basis. This is a brand-new position for the business, so this is an excellent chance for someone to join a company that is ready to make the next step in their growth while having a large degree of autonomy as they move forward. As the Purchasing & Stock Manager, you will be solely responsible for the purchasing function with responsibility for all stock and inventory, reporting directly to the Ops Manager. Our client have just began the implementation of a new ERP system, so expertise in ERPs/MRPs is essential. Duties will include: Lead the growing purchasing function with oversight of all stock and inventory, initially pertaining to ingredients and packaging. Assist with the implementation of a new bespoke ERP system, providing knowledge and guidance for improvements. Strategically source new suppliers and negotiate for the best price while maintaining product quality. Monitor supplier performance regarding quality, OTD, and lead times. Ensure continuous supply of required ingredients and packaging and communicate any supply problems which may pose a risk or impact on business operations Streamline stock and inventory to help with more efficient production, avoiding build ups in obsolete stock. Liaise daily with the production department, reporting on stock levels and any disruptions to supply chain.
