Essential Functions:
* Responsible for leading the technical and operational execution of assigned projects.
* Developing project requirements, coordinating with engineering resources, and monitoring project scope, schedule, and budget adherence.
* Ensures resolution of design, material, and planning issues, supports improved engineering processes, and liaises with cross-functional departments such as Finance, Production Control, Supply Chain, and Program Management.
* Ensure that all necessary technical reviews and approvals are obtained, and that compliance initiatives are supported across the organization.
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required, with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in shipyard design, large ship construction, or comparable large-scale engineering projects (e.g., offshore platforms).
* Alternatively, candidates with a High School diploma or GED and eight (8) years of equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
* Experience in identifying design and production work sequence conflicts is required.
* Strong knowledge of shipbuilding specifications (ABS, Mil, API, etc.) is essential.
* Proficient in project scheduling and the ability to manage progress against deadlines.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
* Familiarity with ship production processes, build strategies, and milestone tracking is critical.
* Computer literacy, including proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications, is necessary.
* In-depth understanding of ship engineering systems required.
* Ability and willingness to work onboard vessels, including climbing ladders and navigating confined spaces, is mandatory.
* Working knowledge of maritime regulatory authorities (ABS, DNV, NAVSEA, USCG, IMO, etc.) required.
* Experience with high-speed aluminum vessel construction, modular construction methods, and U.S. Navy vessel design is preferred.
* Knowledge of shock design principles is advantageous.
