Overview
Chief Biomedical Scientist Haematology role at Dartford & Gravesham NHS Trust. This role is open to all internal staff and Kent and Medway Partnership Network Pathology staff, including those registered with our Staff Bank. The post holder will be required to undertake duties at locations across North Kent Pathology Service to meet service needs.
Responsibilities
* Provide operational leadership and management to staff across the Blood Transfusion or Haematology services at both Darent Valley and Medway Maritime hospital sites.
* Provide leadership for service transformation and the implementation of operational and clinical innovations for the Department.
* Provide line management to the Biomedical Scientists (BMS) and Health Care Support Workers (HSSWs) as well as overall management for all staff within the aligned service.
* Ensure the service runs smoothly and efficiently over the 24-hour period, adopting and aligning to national guidance and local pathways, processes and protocols. Draft, implement and review departmental policies and guidelines.
* Participate in drafting, implementing and reviewing departmental policies and guidelines; ensure adherence to quality standards as set out within the Quality Management System (QMS) and NKPS annual plans.
