With You in Redcar and Cleveland is a free and confidential service for people affected by drugs and alcohol. We provide free and confidential support to people experiencing issues with drugs and alcohol. We are a unique service as we are part of the first ever integrated domestic abuse, drug and alcohol support service. We are extremely proud to have won this contract which began in April 2022. We work with people on their own goals, whether that’s staying safe and healthy, making a small change or stopping an unwanted habit. We work with both adults and young people. Our approach is sensitive and respectful, listening to people's stories and learning from them. We are innovative and bold working with partners across Redcar and Cleveland providing a service that meets everyone's needs; if a person is homeless, in work, has a family, is alone, not in work, has children, we tailor support so it fits them and their individual recovery goals.
The service embraces stakeholders and our partnerships; including health, mental health, criminal justice, social care, education and training and our recovery and peer support partners. As part of your role you will be expected to deliver education sessions on substances to primary and secondary schools and external professionals and t have the skills to deliver group work. Flexibility is needed within this role as you may be needed to start earlier to accommodate for school times.
We have recently secured ongoing funding and as a result, we have an excellent opportunity to join our team on a permanent basis in Redcar and Cleveland as a Young Person's Worker focusing on the criminal justice area. This role requires applicants to be flexible and adaptable to change in a fast paced environment and you will be able to manage a complex caseload and build rapport with both service users and internal and external stakeholders, representing With You to promote specialist treatment and support. The skill to motivate and engage young people is vital as well as the ability to competently assess and manage risk. The role will be working within all aspects of the criminal justice remit, which includes managing a complex criminal justice caseload, as well as non criminal justice caseload. working in a custody setting and regular communication with partner agencies including courts, police, probation, youth offending and prison colleagues. Ideally you will have experience of working in a health social care/ substance misuse setting with Safeguarding and risk management experience.
As a Young Person's Worker, we offer a starting salary of £26,250 per annum. The salary for this role is on an incremental scale and will rise each year in line with our pay progression salary bands, to £30,900 per annum.
