About Chrissie
Chrissie has over a decade of experience representing those who have been seriously injured as a result of accidents and clinical negligence, both in the UK and abroad.
Before joining Nexa, Chrissie spent the first 8 years of her career as a solicitor at one of the UK’s leading clinical negligence law firms, Irwin Mitchell, where she led a series of high-profile cases including a group of injured passengers from the Costa Concordia Cruise Ship Disaster and two leading cosmetic surgery cases (Clarke v Kalecinksi and Mann v Towarzystwo). Her pioneering work in the field of cosmetic surgery in particular has resulted in numerous awards and accolades and she has been recognised as an expert in this area.
At Nexa, Chrissie's practice consists of a broad range of clinical negligence cases including cosmetic surgery, aesthetics, fatal injuries, dental negligence, product liability, misdiagnosis, surgical negligence and medical tourism.
Alongside her practice, Chrissie has a large following on social media of over 150,000 across platforms, is the most followed "indie" (non-traditional firm) lawyer on LinkedIn and is the former Birmingham Law Society Solicitor of the Year, the Law Society's Highly Commended Junior Lawyer of the Year and Downtown in Business' Businesswoman of the year. She is a well known figure in the legal industry and is a regular keynote speaker at industry events across the UK and internationally. About the role
Chrissie is looking for a 4-6year PQE clinical negligence solicitor to work with her on behalf of her injured clients who are bringing claims for compensation through the courts of England & Wales. Your role will be as a trusted advisor to clients and key team member as the practice expands and the new brand is launched in the coming months.
The role is fully remote, with offices available in Birmingham and London. Although it is possible to work internationally, regular travel to the UK will be required, for client visits and court for example, which can be at short notice.
About you
The ideal candidate would have:
* A strong background in clinical negligence litigation within England & Wales;
* Experience in managing a caseload of complex cases;
* 4-6 years PQE across a broad range of clinical negligence cases;
* A drive to work in an agile and entrepreneurial environment.
The role would suit someone who is interested in the autonomy and flexibility of the self-employed model, whilst also being part of a purpose-driven team in a high-growth environment with supportive remuneration structure.
This is an opportunity be the first hire in a startup business which has patient safety at it's heart. A passion for the work is essential, as well as a commitment to furthering the brand's mission of elevating standards of safety in healthcare across the board.
Start date is immediate but can be flexible for the right person.
