We’ve got over 25 years of experience behind us, and some incredible growth on top!We’ve grown from developing portable displays to now managing highly-skilled joinery of bespoke builds for dozens of established clients across the exhibition industry globally.We’ve unlocked huge potential to further provide industry-leading builds both inside trade event venues and semi permanent locations.Investing in our people is essential to growing our passion, and that’s where you come in.We’re looking for a Junior Designer to join our small team and help take us to the next level including other new areas of work outside of the exhibition industry.We anticipate that the first months of the job will be more about learning the industry and technical side of things before you can take on any projects independently, but the ideal candidate should be able to support the design team from the get go with their 2D and 3D software knowledge and design thinking.We’d like you to initially be able to offer;A fluency in 2D/3D software packages, one of which needs to be Vectorworks. Although we are open to discussing options for other 3D software. Cinema 4D knowledge is highly preferable.Must be literate in reading and working on technical drawings for construction spaces like exhibition builds or something similar within interior/architectural design or product/spatial design.Having an understanding of collaboration between departments, concepts like deadlines, budgets, feasibility as well as the eagerness to think outside the box, excellent attention to detail coupled with creative thinking.Must be from a creative background regarding their studies or experience that has transferable skills into the world of designing exhibition spaces and other areas similar. Exhibition, events, retail or interior design experience would be a great bonus. Preferable backgrounds are interior design based, architectural design, product design and industrial design which best reflects our type of work.The initial support for the design team includes creating basic level models, renders and/or line drawings with the instructions and guidance of the lead designer and also providing design support for the in-house projects where/if needed.Supervise the design process with our lead designer working with new design briefs and existing projects.Day to day liaising with the sales and project management team, ability to manage their own daily schedule.Demonstrate the will to work proactively, collaboratively, showing initiative and eagerness to make the project a success, as well as the confidence to take up projects individually.Your time will be split initially between the design and project management departments t0create a better understanding of the day to day workings of the business.We’d like you to evolve into;Ability to interpret client design briefs into 3D designed proposals, (includes creating the concepts, modeling the idea, producing photorealistic renders and providing technical drawings of the finalized design) both independently and collaboratively with the design team.Be open to being on site for delivery of projects occasionally along with the Project management team.Oversee the creative quality of all work produced internally and sent to clients and production.Excellent time management skills and ability to work across multiple projects simultaneouslyAwareness of current market trends with an interest in exhibition spaces, retail work and interior design.Demonstrate the ability to source various parts of a design that needs to come together for the project with the design and project management team.Creation of conceptual work and mood boards for project tenders and proposals..In return, we’ll give you:The opportunity to work with companies of all different sizes including global leaders.A great team working & social environment from our Runway East building.Ability to work flexibly from home and in our London Bridge office with set team working days!Opportunity to grow within the companyA salary starting from £24k - £27k depending on experience.Private health insurance benefits.24 days annual leave.Access to the London underground and national rail within 1 minute walk.Famous sites like The Shard and Borough market on your doorstep with dozens of bars, cafes & restaurants.Access to a discretionary annual bonus based on individual and company performance.Software ability/skill level - idealCinema 4D - Entry/mid level - PreferableVectorworks - Mid level - EssentialAdobe Photoshop - Mid level - EssentialAdobe Illustrator - Entry/mid level - Essential(Open to discussing other 3D softwares if the candidate is very fluent with them)Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience working as designer with 3-5 of the listed platforms. Will consider applicants who have skill levels that range differently across the platforms mentioned.Be able to demonstrate that they can communicate very effectively via phone, email and in-person meetings. Plus have a good understanding of basic software packages and know how to multitask effectively. Be up for some additional hours where required and some travel and overnight stays as part of the job if necessary on the rare occasions.Most importantly, have a passion for the design and build sector.
