Overview MCS are delighted to be recruiting for a Business Development Manager within the FMCG/Foodservice sector. The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding a Northern Ireland territory, driving new business activity and strengthening relationships with an existing customer base. This role offers a blend of autonomy, on-the-road engagement, and hybrid working flexibility, giving you the space to plan your week effectively while enjoying meaningful time with customers. Roles and Responsibilities Take ownership of a defined territory and deliver strong sales, margin and profitability results. Identify and convert new foodservice opportunities using a structured pipeline approach. Grow product penetration with existing clients by promoting a full multi-temperature range across chilled, frozen and ambient categories. Actively target competitor customers to increase market share. Ensure all accounts operate within credit terms, supported by clear communication and strong relationship management. Plan weekly schedules and customer visits efficiently, keeping travel and territory costs within budget. Provide a high standard of customer support and maintain accurate records, reports and journey plans. Share competitor intelligence, customer feedback and market insights with the wider sales team. Support wider commercial initiatives, including occasional sales drives and promotional campaigns. Essential Skills and Qualifications Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent). Full clean driving licence. At least 3 years' experience in proactive field sales, ideally within foodservice, catering or FMCG. Proven ability to hit or exceed sales targets. Confident communicator who can build relationships at all levels. Strong administration and IT skills, particularly in MS Office. Experience selling multi-temperature products or working with chilled, frozen or ambient food categories.
