Calm Cats is on a mission to be the leading provider of accessible wellbeing education and support for children as both preventative measures and therapeutic interventions.
We are seeking qualified, enthusiastic, dynamic practitioners who are passionate about equipping children with the tools and techniques to look after their emotional health and wellbeing.
Work will involve leading group classes both within school settings with primary age children as well as community classes and Birthday parties.
Full training will be given on class content and structure using the Calm Cats Curriculum and Calm Cats Therapeutic Activities.
Employment will be on a freelance basis with initial core hours being after 3pm on weekdays and a Saturday morning between 10 and 12 noon.
Successful candidates will be required to sign a non-disclosure prior to training.
Suitable candidates will have a background in any of the following: Education, Childcare, Mental Health, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Health and Social care or similar and Holistic Therapies.

Experience
You will have worked with children in a range of settings supporting their development, education and ideally their mental health and wellbeing. Whether this is through 1:1 work or delivering and facilitating group work Calm Cats is looking from someone who is experienced in delivering therapeutic interventions.
You are likely to have worked with children with behaviours that challenge, are neurodiverse or have a range of learning needs and therefore will be able to adapt the delivery of groups and 1:1 work to meet the needs of mixed abilities.
You will have a good understanding of Child Development and the role families have in this.
You will be familiar with the basic function of the brain and sensory integration/sensory processing.
Qualifications:
Here at Calm Cats HQ we appreciate the value of lived experience, work place and life experience in shaping who we are and what we have to offer. Along with those who are clinically trained and degree educated, we warmly welcome those who come from an holistically trained background, registered with a professional body. Examples would be: Life Coaches, hypnotherapists, Yoga instructors, Reflexologists. We also welcome those working within Health and Social Care, education, teaching, mental health professionals and those with a background in psychology or child development.
