We're proud to be internationally recognised as pioneers of storytelling with a flair for creating atmospheric, rich and imaginative games.
Our last title,
Still Wakes the Deep
won three BAFTA awards earlier this year. At the time of writing, our next title,
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2
, is yet to be released.
The Projects
We work on original games and a "TCR" take on selected IPs. Our current projects are first-person action-adventure games for consoles and PC developed using Unreal Engine 5, and we're looking for world-class coders to join these exciting developments.

Role Description
* You'll assist the code leadership with the design and development of the core gameplay and game systems.
* As well as being able to write high-quality source code, you'll encourage best code design practices within the code team.
* You'll be working closely with the Studio Technical Director & Lead Programmer to develop and refine the technologies we use to create great content.
* You'll also author documents for technical designs and best practices for use by the rest of the team, and plan work and meet deadlines designated for team projects.
What do we need from you?
* As a seasoned software developer, you understand the creative processes involved in designing and maintaining good code.
* You have a deep knowledge of current development tools and can learn and adapt to new systems quickly. You're able to dig deep and have a proven track record of developing gameplay systems and supporting tools.
* You can think critically and can apply analytical skills in resolving complex issues, a great problem solver that can jump into the code base to help fix the nastiest of bugs.
* You're also a great communicator and love working as part of a team where you play an active role in helping shape the game and its development.
* You've got top-notch C++ skills, experience at a senior level of development in Unreal Engine 5, and a passion turning complex code challenges into amazing gameplay experiences.

The Chinese Room is located in Brighton in the south of England, home to an amazingly vibrant game development scene and a cultural hotspot with fantastic food, arts, music, shopping and sports. The studio is located in central Brighton, 5 minutes from the beach, and a short hop away from the South Downs National Park. Gatwick Airport is only half an hour away from train, and you can be in central London in just over an hour. It's an easy place to love
