We have an exciting opportunity for a Fixed Term 12 month contract for a Primary Care Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Featherstone, a category C prison located in Wolverhampton.
Job Summary
HMP Featherstone is a male prison with a population of 678 males. It is a training prison with 7 wings. This role is a 12‑month fixed‑term contract starting as soon as possible and continuing until May 2027. We are looking for someone with prison experience and completed prison vetting.
Hours
* Monday – Sunday service – 37.5 hours per week
* Weekdays – 7am – 6.30pm
* Weekends – 8.30am – 5.30pm
* Every other weekend
* 8‑week rolling rota
Salary
This full‑time position offers an annual salary ranging from £34,428 to £41,659, depending on experience.

Main Responsibilities
* Work within a multi‑disciplinary team to deliver a nurse‑led service and prevent hospital admissions
* Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening
* Deliver nurse‑led clinics to your patient group while being supported by a multi‑disciplinary team
* Provide evidence‑based care, seeking and acting on patient feedback to personalise care
* Deliver non‑judgemental care that makes a real difference
* Forge strong links with partners and stakeholders
* Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence‑based care and continuous quality improvement, embedding a culture of shared learning
* Share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care and build strong multi‑disciplinary teams
Qualifications & Experience
* Registered Nurse, Adult – NMC
* Evidence of continued professional development
* Understanding of the complexities of multi‑disciplinary and multi‑agency working
* A non‑judgemental and compassionate approach
* Excellent communication skills
* Experience in a hospital, community or prison environment (ideal but not essential)
