Infant Feeding Advisor
PERMANENT- 18.5hrs
Band 6
Minimum required: NMC registered nurse/midwife with minimum of 2 years’ experience including experience supporting mums and babies with infant feeding. Evidence of clinical competence in infant feeding (UNICEF breastfeeding and relationship building or equivalent)
Desirable: experience of UNICEF UK BFI audit, staff education with appropriate qualification (Train the trainer course)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Infant Feeding Advisor to join our forward-thinking Infant Feeding Team.
We wish to appointment an Infant Feeding Advisor to join the Infant Feeding Team to help support infant feeding within the inpatient maternity wards at Borders General Hospital as well as follow up support in the community at specialist support clinics and home visits. The successful candidate will work positively towards improving breastfeeding attrition rates and reducing rates of re-admission to hospital with feeding challenges. In addition to providing tailored individual support and information for women however they choose to feed their baby.
