About Mace

At Mace, our purpose is to redefine the boundaries of ambition. We believe in creating places that are responsible, bringing transformative impact to our people, communities and societies across the globe. To learn more about our purpose, culture, and priorities, visit our strategy site. Within our consulting business we harness our unique combination of leading-edge practical expertise and project delivery to unlock the potential in every project. The projects incorporate the latest modern methods of construction and standardised processes. As part of the role, the successful candidate will have responsibility for the delivery of 2 projects through the construction phase which have already started on site.

This position will suit a candidate looking for a career that is fast-paced and industry-leading. It is a client‑facing role based partly on site where you will be responsible for managing wider consultant teams and project stakeholders, working with the project team to deliver the projects successfully. The role requires oversight of 2 projects for the delivery of new prisoner places – one based in Lancaster and another in Northumberland. Each project will have its own dedicated project manager who will report to you. Due to the location of the sites, this would ideally suit a candidate based in the North region (Leeds office) but may also suit Birmingham, Manchester or London if the candidate is willing to travel to site.

A great opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join our established Ministry of Justice sector within Mace, which is currently experiencing an exciting and sustained period of growth. The existing team has a proven track record of successfully delivering a wide variety of projects of the highest quality across the MoJ prison portfolio. You will be working on a project within a large programme of works with an alliance framework contractor and established professional team. The works comprise construction of new buildings along with some refurbishment/upgrade of existing facilities. This role will provide experience in project delivery throughout the construction stage to meet defined time, cost, technical performance and quality requirements. You will be highly motivated, understand developing a project plan, identify any specialist requirements and support with leading an existing professional team to drive forward the clients’ strategy. You will be responsible for management of necessary project governance and assurance tools to fulfil our obligations.
