Accounts Assistant | Bristol (Hybrid)
Up to £30,000
We are currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join a growing insurance broker based in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a small, close-knit finance team, offering strong development and clear internal progression.
The Role
Reporting into the Accounts Managers, you will support both client money and office accounts within a busy finance function. This is a varied role, offering exposure across multiple areas of finance while working closely with senior team members.
You will play an important part in the day-to-day running of the department, with the opportunity to develop your skills and take on greater responsibility over time.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide day-to-day support to the Head of Group Finance
* Manage and respond to finance inbox queries (client and internal)
* Set up, process and maintain client account finance records
* Review and reconcile incoming funds from multiple sources
* Perform bank and insurer statement reconciliations
* Prepare payment runs for client accounts
* Calculate and reconcile company commission and fees
* Support debtor chasing and resolve account discrepancies
* Maintain accurate client and insurer records
* Assist with ad hoc finance and administrative duties
Requirements
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
* Proactive approach with a willingness to learn and develop
* Ability to manage workload and prioritise effectively
* ACII Advantageous, or working towards
* Previous finance or insurance experience beneficial, but not essential
* Comfortable working within a small team environment
