About the Role
You will be responsible for delivering a holistic approach to learning focusing on behaviour support alongside academic goals. The main focus is to create a positive environment for the students with a goal to increase engagement and self-regulation to prepare them for adulthood. Aspire People are working with a forward-thinking and nurturing SEN school that caters for secondary-aged pupils with a diverse range of needs, including Autism, SEMH (Social Emotional, Mental Health) challenges, and strong behavioural needs.
Responsibilities
* Planning, preparing, and delivering lessons tailored to individual learning needs
* Creating and reviewing Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
* Supporting pupils to develop literacy, numeracy, communication, and life skills
* Creating a nurturing and structured classroom environment
* Monitoring, assessing, and reporting on pupil progress
* Leading and supporting a classroom team, including Teaching Assistants
* Building strong relationships with families, carers, and wider professionals
About You / Qualifications
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent – essential)
* Experience working in a SEN, Primary, or Secondary setting
* Strong understanding of inclusive teaching strategies and child development
* Ability to differentiate teaching for a wide range of abilities and needs
* Strong behaviour management skills and a nurturing approach (essential)
* A collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills
* Passion for working with children with complex social and emotional needs
