Our Engineering Research and Development department (ER&D) is a fast-growing function within Tata Technologies Limited that is assembled to work on exciting projects globally for multiple customers. It comprises highly specialized engineers across Automotive, Aerospace and Industrial Heavy Machinery.
THE ROLE
1. Responsible Power level and Signal Level hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) setup design and routines for automated testing of automotive control systems.
2. Charging systems integration, HIL Verification & Validation projects for design, development, releasing, integration and delivery of state-of-the-art systems for Electrical and Electronics Integration CoE within Engineering, Research and Development.
3. This position would be working within Engineering Research and Development area of Tata Technologies and specifically on Vehicle Programmes. The fast-paced development provides a challenging environment suited to an engineer who can quickly develop skills in new areas and liaise with and drive other engineers within a multidisciplinary/global team. Our customers expect high standards and we require staff capable of meeting such demands.
4. This role is within the team responsible for HIL Test Bench Build, Maintenance, Support, Model Simulation. This includes detailed hardware, software and configuration setup and support to the software validation process. Responsible for ensuring that the agreed systems functions to requirements at the point of delivery and also for ensuring that issues and faults arising are dealt with rapidly.
5. The role demands a high degree of contact with the application software engineers, electronics hardware designers, other design functions to deliver complex system solutions efficiently and in a timely manner.
AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY
6. Develop the HIL testing capability for the production software and calibration group.
7. Design plant models and communication interfaces to allow detailed closed-loop testing of control ECU's.
8. Specify the hardware and communication interfaces to control ECU's and support the build of custom wiring.
9. Develop the HIL capability to support automatic regression testing of functions and diagnostics.
10. Support and champion software testing best practice.
11. Compilation and Verification of BoM for HIL Simulator and Lab Car.
12. Design and Build ABS Wet Bench, Steering Rack and Chassis/Kinetics Rack for HIL setup
13. Full Vehicle HIL Electrical Integration and assembly.
14. Provide rapid root cause failure analysis solutions to the business Work efficiently to help deliver the best solution possible to the customer.
15. Responsible for specifying, developing and maintaining the HIL test systems used to validate production embedded software related to high performance hybrid drive system control units.
16. Delivery of software test results to Engineering and Support development of test requirements with system engineers
17. Working together with the other HIL engineers to align processes and development efficiency, to ensure on time software delivery
18. Responsible for test execution (automated and manual) using Hardware In the Loop test environment. Testing Assisted and Automated Driving on Component (Sensors & ECUs) and System Level.
19. Developing scenarios for test cases for the HIL environment.
20. Work close with the HIL Test Automation team to enable HIL Test automation.
21. Work close with the System Test team to ensure high quality testing.
22. Working close with the Test Coordination team to ensure test plan and strategy execution.
KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE
23. Degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline
24. Expert in handling Power Level HIL and well versed with safety operations
25. Expert in Buliding and Setting up Power Level HIL.
26. Experience in developing and maintaining MIL, HIL, system verification test cases and test infrastructure
27. Experience with MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow, Vector tools etc. other popular automotive tools
28. Experience in building and using HIL test setups (dSpace and relevant tools), system level test benches and CAN / LIN / Automotive Ethernet network verification tools (. CANoe, CANalyzer
29. Expert knowledge in test automation and scripting languages and tools (MATLAB, Python, Jenkins, ECU-Test, AutomationDesk or similar)
30. dSPACE Certified Engineer in FPGA and E-Drive application.
31. Experience in plant modeling (Electrical Motors, High Voltage Battery Systems, Vehicle Dynamics and Thermal System) - you deeply understand mechanical and electrical systems
32. Sound understand of functional safety standards and testing principles
33. Expertise in MATLAB Simulink ,simscape, stateflow, M scripting
34. Expertise in Test Automation using Python
35. Good understanding of system/software testing and methodologies.
36. Good understanding of vehicle network communication technologies.
37. Experience in requirement-based testing / design verification / validation.
38. Interest in new and innovative technologies.
39. High level of proactivity and independency
40. Good English language skills.
41. Experience with Vector tools (CANalyser, CANoe)
42. Experience with National Instruments, dSpace or Carmaker IPG
43. Experience in scripting languages
44. Experience in C, C++, C# or python
45. ISTQB foundation level training and certification.
46. Experience in Agile working methodology.
