, United Kingdom Job Family Group: Compliance Worker Type: Regular Posting Start Date: August 25, 2025 Business unit: Experience Level: Experienced Professionals Job Description: Job Description Purpose and Accountabilities: • Reporting to the CCE & Intelligence Manager, the Intelligence Analyst is responsible for the production of investigative and intelligence products on topics/issues across the T&S Compliance Risk Taxonomy. • The role holder is expected to lead in the development of a best-in-industry investigative/ intelligence analysis capability to enable Shell Trading & Supply (T&S) to effectively and in a timely manner detect regulatory risks. The Strategic Intelligence Advisor has responsibility for: • Provide significant analytical overlay to basic research findings, large data sets and will draw upon specific country, thematic and technical expertise to support research on issues of relevant to T&S. • The role holder must be equipped to work in a high-pressure environment, potentially delivering complex reporting to very senior stakeholders. Decision makers will base important business decisions on the research product hence the need for financial crime expertise, demonstrable analytical capability, and a high degree of resilience. • Provide timely and reliable intelligence on business risk, country risk, and regulatory risk in order to improve leadership’s risk management decisions. • Conduct in-depth financial crime investigations, intelligence analysis and research. • Report research and analytical findings to members of the business, second line of defence and senior management. • Maintain multiple enquiries at any one time, often in adherence to strict deadlines. • Work effectively as part of a team while taking on unfamiliar tasks when necessary and provide guidance and support to others. • Lead projects with minimal or no supervision while providing clear technical direction to other members of the team. • Build strong and sustainable relationships internally and externally to obtain and exchange information, identify best practices, and deliver results. • Ability to lead, motivate and develop other members of the team so that their individual and collective performance meets and exceeds the current and future needs of individuals, the team, and the organisation. • Represent T&S at internal and external intelligence fora if necessary. •Contribute and suggest initiatives to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the team, its analytical development, products, capabilities, and management information. Dimensions: • No direct reports (although will be expected to guide/mentor other members of the team). • Member of the FCRCCE team within T&S Compliance • Virtual role Skills & Requirements: • Education to degree level or above (or equivalent of 7 years of work experience is preferred). • Outstanding analytical (qualitive and quantitative) and problem-solving skills. • Ability to rapidly and accurately understand and communicate complex intelligence issues and identify potential financial crime risks associated with them. • Demonstrated ability to confidently engage with senior level stakeholders. • Resourceful, creative, and inquisitive approach to highly complex tasks. • Ability to undertake comparative assessments of multiple competing hypotheses. • Strong team player with leadership qualities. • Highly motivated, autonomous, and accountable. • Verifiable in-depth knowledge of business, current affairs, and financial crime. • Strong people and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including report writing and presentation. • (Desirable) Experience/knowledge of the oil and gas sector and/or one or more segments of the T&S businesses (including Crude, Products, Energy, Shipping, Operations and Supply). • (Desirable) Qualifications in financial crime and/or intelligence analysis. • (Desirable) Knowledge of additional language(s) – e.g., French, Spanish, Arabic, Spanish, Mandarin - DISCLAIMER: Please note: We occasionally amend or withdraw Shell jobs and reserve the right to do so at any time, including prior to the advertised closing date.
