One of Northern Ireland’s largest public sector authorities located in Co. Armagh with an estate that includes leisure facilities, parks, public buildings and offices.
Your new role
This will be on an initial temporary basis, likely to last months, reporting to the Head of Estates.You will be required to:
1. Directing and managing response maintenance works, remedial repairs and project works
2. Centralising, rationalising, tendering and onward management of service contracts
3. Setting up, prioritising and managing M&E service programmes of work (Statutory PPM);
4. Liaising with Estates Asset Management Dept to ensure appropriate maintenance cover for Tenants
5. Acting on findings of Insurance Engineering Inspection Reports
6. Act as Lead Estates Officer on a Range of Contracts including Management of Legionella
7. Ensuringpliance with Health & Safety Regulations, liaising with Corporate H&S Department as required
8. Meeting with Stakeholders and Facility Managers to agree project scope of works
9. Requesting and reviewing Quotations, Agreeing programming of works, Monitor and Control of Project Costs
10. Snagging ofpleted Works, review ofmissioning and O&M Information
11. Undertaking site inspections and M&E condition surveys, preparing detailed specifications and schedules, cost estimates and feasibility studies for M&E works/ projects, preparing pre-qualification questionnaires and evaluation methodologies;
12. Advising on rmended works due to plant life expectancy / maintenance issues / inspection reports etc.
13. Monitoring the work of Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering consultants and contractors, vetting their invoices and claims for payment and carrying out technical vetting of their performance.
What you'll need to succeed
Degree level qualification in a relevant subject such as Higher National Certificate in Building Services Engineering (Mechanical), or equivalent qualification and be able to demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples, at least one year’s relevant experience in a consulting mechanical engineering environment, client side estates role or working for a maintenance contractor managing a large public estate.OrNVQ Level 3 qualification in a mechanical building services discipline, such as BTEC Higher National Certificate in Building Services Engineering (Mechanical), or equivalent qualification and be able to demonstrate on the application form, by providing personal and specific examples, at least three years’ relevant experience in a consulting mechanical engineering environment, client side estates role or working for a maintenance contractor managing a large public estate.
