My client a key part of the public sector has a new opportunity to join them as Insurance and Risk Manager in this multi-faceted role where you will act as the most senior point within the insurance division. You will be responsible for the insurance strategy, purchasing and claims whilst also managing a small team of 3 insurance professionals who deliver insurance services.
You will be responsible for the management of the risk finance strategy and insurance arrangements for the organisation, its subsidiary organisations and external organisations. This includes managing contracts associated with the risk finance strategy to ensure that value for money is achieved from its brokers, insurers, agents, solicitors and loss adjusters.
You will also be a Budget Manager for the Insurance service and associated funds including £6m of insurance provision and reserves and over £1.6m in external insurance premium and claims spend. Working closely with stakeholders you will provide high level professional insurance advisory services to the organisation and its subsidiaries.
You will need to thrive in a fast changing environment and draw on your problem-solving expertise, using your knowledge of the insurance regulations to ensure all requirements are met as well as implementing new ones as necessary.
To be considered you must have extensive insurance experience either within another similar In house insurance role or a broking or underwriting role ideally with exposure to the public sector.
