* Hours: 40 hours per week
About The Role
As a Battery Test Engineer in our Prototype Operations department, you will support all battery testing activities for our innovative power system technology used in mining vehicles. You will also develop our testing facilities and methodologies at the pack, module, and cell levels.
This role suits a driven individual with experience in power systems testing, thriving in a fast-paced, prototype environment.
Responsibilities
1. Plan and execute upgrades to testing facilities.
2. Lead and train technicians in resolving test issues.
3. Design and build bespoke test facilities, maintaining hardware and software.
4. Create data analysis scripts for test measurements and feedback.
5. Maintain calibration of test equipment.
6. Improve methods to enhance testing quality, safety, and efficiency.
7. Participate in H&S activities, including writing procedures and risk assessments.
8. Lead safety initiatives and foster a positive work environment.
9. Train new employees on safety, testing practices, and equipment use.
10. Share knowledge within the team to promote a collaborative environment.
11. Plan daily activities to meet testing deadlines.
12. Coordinate with stakeholders to schedule testing activities.
Candidate Requirements
* Strong interpersonal skills and team effectiveness.
* Experience designing and building test facilities.
* Disciplined, analytical, and organized.
* Experience with industry-standard battery testing and data analysis.
* Knowledge of HV (up to 1 kV) battery systems.
* Ability to plan and work independently to meet deadlines.
* Familiarity with LabVIEW, NI Hardware, and CANalyzer.
* Proficiency in MATLAB scripting.
* Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
* Experience in prototype engineering and working with hazardous voltages.
