Be among the first 25 applicants. An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Legal Advisor to join our Wills & Probate Department. The position is based in our Newark office with regular travel to our Nottingham office (or vice versa).
A successful candidate will have exposure during or after training to Wills, Probate, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Deputyship applications to the Court of Protection. Knowledge of trusts is helpful. A willingness to work towards STEP will be expected and supported. You will present a professional image at all times, be well presented, confident, and possess first class communication skills. You will be hardworking and able to work in an empathetic and sympathetic manner when dealing with the bereaved and those facing a loss of mental capacity.
Responsibilities
* Actively promote the firm’s full range of services, with a focus on Wills, Probate and Private Client matters.
* Manage all client work allocated by the Head of Department or other fee-earners in accordance with the firm’s Office Manual, procedures, and quality standards.
* Progress client work expeditiously and keep clients informed on outcomes, progress, and costs.
* Maintain high standards of client care in a professional and courteous manner.
* Ensure confidentiality and security of all firm and client documentation and information.
* Achieve agreed billing and time recording targets per annum.
* Maintain clear and precise communications with colleagues and ensure good working relationships with internal and external institutions.
* Take responsibility for self-development and comply with relevant training requirements in conjunction with the firm.
* Support Departmental Head and assist with administration of the department.
