Overview
This role will be primarily to support a specific, high-functioning child with learning and to support with transition periods. The child requires support to process information and develop social skills through activities such as social stories, play-based turn taking games, emotional regulation strategies and sensory breaks. 1-2 afternoons per week will be dedicated to other group support.
Responsibilities
* Provide support to a specific, high-functioning child with learning and transition periods.
* Help the child process information and develop social skills through activities such as social stories, play-based turn taking games, emotional regulation strategies and sensory breaks.
* Contribute to group support during 1-2 afternoons per week.
* Work as part of the school team to inspire trust and confidence in children.
Qualifications
* Experience as a teaching assistant.
* Can demonstrate outstanding classroom practice.
* Has high expectations of children, behaviour and personal development.
* Has a passion for supporting the needs of all children.
* Has a positive outlook and loves developing children's learning.
Contract details
The current vacancy is for 5 days, Monday to Friday, working from 8:45am to 3.45pm. Initially, this is a fixed term contract with the possibility of extending this beyond the academic year based on SEND funding.
