Advo Health is the largest and leading subcontractor in government health assessments. Carried out by our community of experienced healthcare professionals throughout the UK, these independent assessments help the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) to understand how a health condition or disability is affecting a claimant's daily life. This ensures that the system is fair and that those who are most in need of help and support receive it.

Your purpose

As the Clinical Performance Lead (PIP), you will be responsible for overseeing the PIP clinical performance within your team. This includes managing quality standards, productivity, staff development, and meeting service level performance targets.

You will provide clinical leadership and expertise to ensure the delivery of consistent, high-quality reports while developing and implementing strategies to drive continuous improvement and enhance performance. Your role involves direct management of clinical roles within your team, motivating and coaching team members, and utilising technology and performance metrics to enhance productivity and quality. You will also maintain approval status by conducting a sufficient volume of clinical assessments to stay proficient and serve as a role model for your team.

How Your Role Fits Within Our Team

As a Clinical Performance Lead, you will report directly to the Assessment Centre Manager and be a key member of the team responsible for driving clinical excellence. You will work closely with the Advo management team, engaging with both operational and clinical specialists, as well as broader stakeholders. Your role will be instrumental in delivering the service and leading on day-to-day clinical performance requirements within your team. This includes driving clinical excellence, supporting your colleagues, and ensuring that quality and performance targets are consistently met. You will be pivotal in fostering a culture of continuous improvement and clinical excellence within the team.

Key Responsibilities

Support and lead on all PIP clinical-related performance metrics within the team and implement strategies to continuously enhance performance.
Provide visible leadership and direction to PIP Healthcare Professionals to enable the effective delivery of quality expectations, volume delivery, and customer service-related measures.
Deliver team objectives and performance against targets through robust performance management methods.
Motivate, inspire, and coach team members through continuous professional development, recognising exceptional performance, and developing team members with potential in support of effective succession planning.
Utilise technology and management information to effectively analyse performance and implement actions to enhance quality and productivity.
Support in the investigation of customer complaints and escalate serious complaints as required.
Effective reporting of performance metrics. Where necessary, provide an explanation of deviation from targets and plans for corrective actions as agreed.
Communicate changes in assessment procedures and best practice requirements.
Ensure strong working relationships and facilitate communication and engagement, whilst building a culture of clinical excellence and continuous improvement.
Adhere to the governance structure in place, ensuring requirements are met, and equally knowing when to escalate.
Maintain approval status and conduct the expected volume of clinical assessments per month to ensure you maintain a high clinical skill level and staff have the opportunity to shadow, observe, and learn from you.

You must hold full registration with one of the following professional bodies:

Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), as an RGN, RMN, RLDN.
Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC), as a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist.
General Medical Council (GMC)

Full registration is essential and must be maintained throughout employment.

Essential Experience And Qualifications

Extensive knowledge of the PIP assessment guide and what constitutes an A1 assessment
Ability to monitor and evaluate performance metrics and implement strategies to enhance performance
Enthusiastic and confident with experience in building strong working relationships, influencing and empowering others to deliver results.
An understanding of how to drive clinical quality improvements in both individual and team performance
Strong leadership, mentoring and coaching skills
Ability to maintain strict adherence to internal policies and internal controls within the business
Able to employ a variety of media to communicate effectively, with an understanding of how to influence a range of audiences
Understanding of incident management and broader governance requirements, and knowing when to escalate
Ability to provide a calm and steady presence to effectively manage difficult situations.
Ability to work in a fast-changing, complex, multi-stakeholder environment – comfortable dealing with ambiguity.
Strong interpersonal, communication and analytical skills
Excellent computer literacy and IT skills, particularly working within Microsoft 365.
Microsoft 365 Experience
A minimum of 12 months experience delivering PIP assessments
Experience of delivering quality assurance activities for PIP Qualifications
Secretary of State Approval in PIP
