Overview

Graduate Learning Support Assistant – Specialist SEN School

Location: Ware, Hertfordshire
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: Up to £600 per week

A well-respected specialist school in Ware is seeking a Graduate Learning Support Assistant to join their team from September 2025. This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in a nurturing environment while building skills that can lead to careers in teaching, therapy, or mental health support.


Role Overview - Graduate Learning Support Assistant

As a Graduate Learning Support Assistant, you will:

* Support pupils from Primary to GCSE level with a variety of needs including Autism, ADHD, Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH), Speech & Language Difficulties, Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD), and sensory/physical needs.
* Provide 1:1 and small group support, helping students access the curriculum and develop independence, confidence, and social skills.
* Work closely with teachers and therapists to adapt activities and promote inclusion in the classroom.
* Encourage resilience and positive engagement in both academic and personal development.

* Weekly pay of up to £600 (experience dependent).
* Long-term, full-time role – Monday to Friday, term-time only.

Candidate Profile - Graduate Learning Support Assistant

* A minimum 2:1 degree – particularly relevant in Psychology, Education, or related fields.
* Passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs.
* Patient, flexible, and resilient when faced with challenges.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Previous experience working with children or SEN (through schools, care, or youth work) is an advantage but not essential.
* Must have the right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available).
